Prefer Less Conversation During Your OneClass Massage? How to Ask

You may want to spend your massage resting rather than keeping a conversation going. If that is your preference, explain it when you contact OneClass. A short request for less small talk is clearer than hoping the therapist will work out what your brief answers mean.

The useful distinction is between casual conversation and questions needed for the appointment. You can ask for fewer social questions while still welcoming a check about pressure, a change of position or something you need to understand. These examples help you express that preference; they do not promise a silent course or a particular arrangement.

Say what you prefer, rather than simply “no talking”

A request such as “no talking” could leave uncertainty about whether the therapist should ask any questions. Describe the part you want to reduce and the communication you still need.

I would prefer a quiet session with very little casual conversation. Please still ask any questions needed for my comfort or to explain the session.

You can add a reason if you want: “I have been talking all day,” or “I find conversation in English tiring.” You do not need to give a personal explanation if the preference itself is enough. If you mainly want shorter questions because of a language difference, say that directly instead of asking for silence.

The OneClass FAQ lists English contact by LINE, WhatsApp and chat. Include your request in the official booking conversation and ask whether it can be accommodated. If it is important to your decision, get an answer before confirming.

Keep a short arrival conversation

Before settling into the session, make sure the course and your preferences are understood. Mention any area you do not want included, ask about anything unfamiliar, and explain how you will request a pause. A quiet appointment should not depend on leaving these points unsaid.

Payment is Japanese yen cash only, made directly to the therapist on arrival. Have that ready so the payment discussion does not interrupt the session later. Our payment guide explains the conditions.

Then repeat the conversation preference in one sentence. This is useful even if you already sent it during booking:

Simple ways to request less conversation
English Japanese
I would like to rest quietly, with less small talk. 雑談は控えめにして、静かに休みたいです。
Please still ask me about pressure and comfort. 力加減や、つらくないかどうかは確認してください。
Short, simple questions are easier for me. 短く簡単に質問してもらえると助かります。
I would like to be quiet for a while now. ここからは、しばらく静かに過ごしたいです。

You can change the conversation without ending the session

Perhaps you enjoyed talking at the start and later want to rest. State the change plainly: “Thank you. I would like to be quiet for a while now.” There is no need to make up an excuse or continue answering social questions because you began with a conversation.

If you are asked something you do not understand, ask for it to be repeated more simply. Do not answer “yes” just to bring the conversation to an end. If you need less pressure, a different position or a pause, say so even though you requested a quiet session. The separate pressure-preference guide has direct phrases for those adjustments.

If a companion remains in the room, discuss the same preference with them. Otherwise, you may ask the therapist for less conversation while your companion continues chatting or taking calls beside you. Agree on what works for the shared room before the appointment.

Deal with room noise as a separate issue

Less conversation does not necessarily mean a quieter room. If you would prefer the television or your own music off, adjust those before starting. Ask before changing something the therapist is using. Keep your phone available for necessary communication, and avoid audio that would make an important question hard to hear.

Noise from a corridor, another room or building work is a hotel matter. If it will prevent the appointment you want, speak with reception and clarify the booking arrangements before making changes. A request for less small talk cannot guarantee silence elsewhere in the building.

At the end, allow time to hear anything that needs explaining and check your belongings. The aim is straightforward: less conversation you do not want, with room for the questions and requests that make the appointment understandable.
